Most people approaching their 100th birthday probably aren’t thinking about being passed over the heads of thousands of people at a rock concert.

The 99-year-old has officially entered the record books after going crowd surfing during a Brantley Gilbert concert in Texas.
And judging by the pictures, she enjoyed every second of it.
Pauline, better known online as the “Gangster Granny”, was 99 years and 274 days old when she completed the unusual challenge, making her the oldest person to crowd surf in history.
The attempt was organised with the help of her grandson, Ross Smith, with whom Pauline has built an enormous online following.
Together, the pair have become known for making comedy videos and sending Pauline on increasingly unusual adventures.
Pauline has previously described her unexpected internet fame as a “whirlwind in the best way”, per Guinness World Records.
She said: “It is very surreal, but I feel happy knowing that this time I’ve spent with my grandson creating silly videos has inspired and encouraged people to be kind, to laugh, and to connect with their elders,”
“I hear from people all the time that tell me one of our videos helped them reconnect with their own grandparents, and I love hearing those stories.”
But even by their standards, crowd surfing at 99 was going to take some beating.
Pauline arrived at the concert wearing a red-and-white T-shirt featuring her own face alongside the rather appropriate message “Old’s Cool”.
Country-rock musician Brantley Gilbert then introduced Pauline and Ross to the crowd and explained what they were about to attempt.
Pauline was strapped securely into a stretcher before being lifted above the audience.
Understandably, she initially held tightly onto both sides as hundreds of hands carried her towards the front.
It didn’t take long for the nerves to disappear.
As Pauline became more comfortable, she started waving her arms in the air and smiling while the crowd moved her through the venue.
The audience even began chanting “Granny! Granny! Granny!” as she made her way towards the stage.
After completing her record-breaking journey, Pauline emerged at the front of the crowd with a huge smile before dancing on stage while holding her grandson’s hand.
And there was still time for one final celebration.
Footage shared afterwards showed Pauline proudly holding her Guinness World Records certificate and announcing: “I did it! I’m the greatest of all time!”
At 99 years old, it’s difficult to argue with her.
