Pregnancy cravings can produce some fairly unexpected food combinations, but one pizza order appears to have pushed even the person placing it to the point where an explanation felt necessary.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!A receipt showing an impressively complicated hand-tossed pizza order has attracted attention thanks not only to the toppings involved, but the message apparently left for the people tasked with making it.
The order starts relatively normally with one large hand-tossed pizza, priced at $17.99.
Things quickly become considerably more complicated from there.
The customer asked for triple pepperoni and extra cheese, before adding banana peppers and light jalapeños into the mix.
Then come the instructions for individual halves of the pizza.
One half was to include chicken, while another instruction requested mushrooms. Caramelized onions and olives were also ordered on separate halves, with the entire pizza apparently finished with light sauce.
It is the sort of order that could leave whoever receives the ticket checking it for a second time.
And the person responsible seemingly knew exactly how unusual the lengthy list of requests might appear.
Rather than leaving the restaurant workers to wonder what was going on, the customer included an explanation under the receipt’s “Customer Request” section.
It read: “Bro yes i know this looks insane and you’re probably like who is this dude? i’m the dude who has a very pregnant wife. i’m done questioning what she wants. i’m scared of her and honestly you should be to. i promise this is the order. thank you and godspeed”
The message transforms what would otherwise have simply been a complicated pizza order into something far more memorable.
There is also something particularly funny about the reassurance that, despite appearances, the order really is correct.
With triple pepperoni, extra cheese, banana peppers and jalapeños already covering plenty of ground before the half-and-half toppings even enter the equation, it is easy to understand why the customer anticipated questions.
Instead of risking a phone call to confirm whether the combination had been entered correctly, he made his position abundantly clear from the outset.
There would be no questioning the order.
The final “thank you and godspeed” also gives the request the air of someone handing over responsibility and hoping for the best.
Whether the resulting pizza tasted as chaotic as the receipt looked isn’t revealed by the image.
But the customer certainly appeared committed to making sure the exact order made it from the receipt to the pizza box.
Sometimes, it seems, the safest option is simply to order exactly what you’ve been told.
