A local chef has been praised after stepping in to feed firefighters who had spent hours battling a major blaze in temperatures of around 36°C.

With firefighters working for hours in the intense heat, Marc, the head chef at nearby pub Brothers in Arms, decided to help in a practical way.
He cooked pizzas for the crews, giving them an opportunity to eat and refuel after pushing themselves to the limit while dealing with the blaze.
Photos shared afterwards show firefighters sitting by the side of the road in their gear, eating from pizza boxes with a fire engine parked nearby.
Other images show thick black smoke rising above the surrounding countryside as crews worked to bring the incident under control.
Brothers in Arms publicly thanked Marc for looking after those involved.
The pub wrote: “Thankyou head chef Marc in Brothers in arms who cooked pizzas for the crews tonight as we managed to stop the major fire at Hay green Terrington . Ours crews worked their socks off in 36oc for hours and pushed themselves to the limit . Thankyou to all the public for there support during the incident .”
The fire came during a particularly busy period for Norfolk Fire & Rescue, which declared a major incident as crews responded to multiple fires across the county.
By 7pm, the service had reportedly dealt with 25 incidents that day.
Against that backdrop, Marc’s pizzas offered firefighters a chance to take a break and get some food after hours of physically demanding work in the heat.
His gesture quickly attracted praise online.
One person wrote: “What a lovely act of kindness thank you Marc you really are a amazing man.”
Another thanked both the chef and the emergency crews, writing: “Thank you Marc. So very kind. Thank you to all the firefighters out there battling the elements.”
A third added: “Thank you for everything you’ve done.”
The appreciation was directed not only towards Marc but also towards the firefighters who had spent hours dealing with the major blaze in difficult conditions.
The pictures shared from the scene capture the scale of the incident, with large columns of smoke visible from some distance away and flames seen close to the roadside in another image.
They also show the quieter moment that followed, as members of the fire crew sat down together with the pizzas provided by Marc.
With emergency crews being there for us in the recent unbearable heat, it’s wonderful to see them being looked after in return. Well done, Marc.
