There are plenty of people who believe pets eventually start to resemble their owners.

But one woman appears to have taken that theory to another level after transforming her Chihuahua into a miniature version of herself – and the finished look left her struggling to stop laughing.

Rozi Flávia shared a video on Instagram featuring her dog, Yoshi, dressed to look remarkably like her.

And while Rozi may have been responsible for creating the look, even she seemingly wasn’t prepared for just how funny the resemblance would be once Yoshi was sitting alongside her.

The Chihuahua was given glasses and hair to complete the transformation, creating a tiny canine double that proved almost impossible for Rozi to take seriously.

As she attempted to film with Yoshi, Rozi repeatedly broke down laughing at the sight of him.

The moment was supposed to have an entirely different purpose, too.

According to Rozi, she had originally planned to speak about Easter before Yoshi’s appearance completely derailed proceedings.

“My intention was to talk about Easter, but when I saw him laughing like that, I just couldn’t help myself! Hahahaha—Yoshi is the best,” she wrote on Instagram.

Whatever Rozi had planned to say quickly became secondary.

Instead, viewers were treated to her trying to compose herself next to a Chihuahua who suddenly looked suspiciously like a tiny member of the family.

And millions of people clearly found the situation just as funny.

The video amassed more than 153 million views on Instagram alone, with viewers from across the platform piling into the comments to react to Rozi and her four-legged lookalike.

Although the video itself isn’t in English, that proved to be very little obstacle for people watching.

The visual joke did most of the work.

Yoshi’s glasses, hair and smile alongside Rozi were apparently all viewers needed to understand why she was finding the situation so hilarious.

Naturally, the resemblance also gave the internet plenty of material to work with.

One person suggested Yoshi’s transformation was so convincing that modern technology might struggle to tell the pair apart.

“That dog looks like it can unlock ur phone by face,” someone wrote.

Another viewer went considerably further, joking that there was no longer any point pretending Yoshi was simply Rozi’s pet.

“Ma’am that your biological child. PERIOD,” a funny comment reads.

For some viewers, meanwhile, understanding what Rozi was actually saying wasn’t remotely necessary.

Her laughter and Yoshi’s appearance told them everything they needed to know.

“I don’t understand any word but I understand everything,” someone admitted.

Another person was in exactly the same position, writing: “Idk what shes saying but I can’t stop laughing.”

It is perhaps the perfect summary of why the clip managed to travel so widely.

There isn’t an elaborate punchline or complicated set-up to understand.

It’s simply a woman sitting next to her Chihuahua after dressing him to look like her, only to discover that the end result is considerably funnier than she anticipated.

The longer she looks at Yoshi, the harder it seemingly becomes to keep a straight face.

And with more than 90 million Instagram views, Rozi clearly wasn’t alone.

Pets picking up their owners’ habits and personality traits might be something people have debated for years, but Yoshi has offered a slightly different interpretation.

Sometimes, all it takes is the right hair and a pair of glasses.
