There are pool parties… and then there’s whatever this was.

TikToker Serena Neel has gone viral after turning her backyard into what might be the strangest summer hangout of the year — filling an entire swimming pool with a staggering 50,000 pickles before inviting her entire neighbourhood over to dive in.

Yes, actual pickles.

In a video that has already pulled in millions of views on TikTok, Neel documented the bizarre challenge from start to finish, showing the sheer scale of what it took to transform thousands of discarded pickles into a floating green spectacle.

It wasn’t exactly a quick job either.

The clip begins with pallets upon pallets of pickle jars being unloaded, with Neel revealing there were around 10 pallets’ worth to work through. But this wasn’t a random shopping spree gone mad — the pickles were reportedly damaged, meaning they couldn’t be sold or eaten.

Rather than letting them go straight to waste, Neel came up with an alternative.

“We’re gonna fill a pool and then recycle them,” she explained.

And that’s exactly what happened.

The process was chaotic from the jump.

Neel and her helpers spent hours cracking open jars, rinsing the pickles, and shovelling them into wheelbarrows before transporting them to the pool one load at a time. As the day rolled on, the backyard slowly transformed into what can only be described as a giant brine-free pickle pit.

The growing mountain of empty jars nearby became just as impressive as the pool itself.

With thousands of pickles already floating in the water, Neel explained there was another issue to deal with — keeping them from changing colour in the heat.

“We have to keep the cover on it, or else they’ll get cooked and turn white,” she said.

That sentence alone probably wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card this week.

Eventually, after countless wheelbarrow trips and what must have felt like endless jar-opening, the mission was complete.

All 50,000 pickles were in.

And naturally, Neel was the first one in the water.

Filling a pool with pickles 🥒🤪 50,000 @Josh’s Pickles were unsellable, undonatable, and heading for the landfill.. so we broke a world record instead and took them to a recycling plant that turns waste into fuel for the Utah power grid 🫶

Jumping into the pickle-filled pool, she joked that she felt “like an alligator” as she swam through the sea of floating cucumbers.

Because if you’ve spent an entire day building a pickle pool, you may as well commit to the bit.

But what started as an internet stunt quickly turned into a full-blown local event.

The backyard soon filled with inflatable pool toys, stacks of pizza, and curious neighbours eager to experience the world’s most unusual swim for themselves.

“The whole neighborhood came,” Neel said.

And honestly, who wouldn’t at least want to see it?

The clip has exploded online, with viewers split between admiration, confusion, and disbelief at the sheer commitment it took to pull off.

It’s the kind of content that makes perfect sense on TikTok — ridiculous enough to stop you scrolling, but strangely impressive once you realise the amount of effort involved.

And for Neel, this isn’t even her first viral stunt.

Earlier this month, she also made headlines after transforming her home into a fully-stocked free 7-Eleven, complete with hot dogs, slushies, snacks and drinks.

That stunt got so much attention that even 7-Eleven’s own social media team got involved, joking that they were “still waiting” for an invite.

So if there’s one thing becoming clear, it’s that Serena Neel doesn’t do small ideas.

From building a functioning convenience store in her house to creating a neighbourhood pickle pool, she’s quickly carving out a reputation for turning absurd concepts into internet gold.

The only question now is what’s next.

Because after 50,000 pickles, the bar has been set pretty high.
