Amber Luke has spent years turning herself into one of the internet’s most recognisable body modification influencers — but fans were left stunned after seeing what she looked like before the tattoos, implants and extreme procedures.

The Australian model, often referred to online as “Dragon Girl” or “Blue Eyes White Dragon”, recently shared throwback images of herself before covering almost every inch of her body in ink.

And the transformation is almost unbelievable.

In the post shared with her followers, Luke appears with blonde hair, minimal makeup and only a small tattoo on her clavicle — a world away from the heavily tattooed appearance she’s now known for across social media.

According to the Daily Mail, the influencer has spent more than $280,000 AUD on tattoos and body modifications over the years in her pursuit of becoming what she describes as a “walking work of art”.

The 31-year-old previously revealed during an appearance on Brisbane radio show Robin, Terry, and Kip that she now has more than 600 tattoos covering 99 percent of her body.

Her gradual transformation post can be seen below, showing how the number of inkings continued to grow and grow. Luke wrote in the post’s caption: “Self evolution is my s**t, man. Watching myself grow over the years – I have been so hard on myself and my mental. It’s time to sit back and reflect on the good I have done in my life; f*** the negative dwelling.

“I have built something for myself – not only for myself – but I built an empire of self-love, a movement of self-expression, I created something significant to not only myself, but to so many others who look up and see me as a person they admire. I am free. I live freely.

“To look like this used to come with a catch 22; a price tag. But you know – after so many years of working on myself for everyone around me too; I have started to realise that it’s not about their reactions any longer… it’s mine that matter. I learnt to not snap back, I learn to hold myself as someone who doesn’t care what your option is.

“My younger me would be so proud – I am proud of us.”

And the response from her fans was overwhelmingly positive. “You are so beautiful in every stage. You are such a gorgeous soul,” one person wrote.

Another follower commented: “Always been beautiful and always will be.” A third wrote: “So proud of your growth!”

But despite building a huge online following through her dramatic appearance, Luke admitted that public reactions are often brutal.

“I am getting very heavily tattooed, but I’m not hurting anyone in the process,” she said. “Everyone has their own opinions of what beauty is.”

“You see these cultures [where people] stretch their necks, their ears, their lips. But at the end of the day, we all are entitled to our opinion and that’s okay. But, what gets to me is when someone expresses their opinion to me in public and comes up to me and says, ‘Oh, you’re ugly’, or, ‘You’ve ruined yourself’.”

While critics regularly target her appearance, Luke has repeatedly explained that the changes completely transformed her confidence and mental wellbeing.

Speaking previously about her younger years, she admitted she struggled heavily with her identity before embracing tattoos and body modification.

“Back when I was 14, I didn’t know who I was or what I wanted from life,” she explained to the Daily Mail back in 2019.

“I was catatonic and couldn’t see what was best for me. I was naive. But I now have a backbone and I can stand up for what I believe in. I also have the confidence to look however I want too.”

Her modifications go far beyond tattoos alone.

Alongside full-body ink, Luke also has multiple facial piercings, a split tongue, cosmetic surgery procedures and some of the most controversial eyeball tattoos seen online.

The eyeball inking procedure — which helped earn her the nickname “Blue Eyes White Dragon” — remains one of the most dangerous decisions she has made.

Luke previously revealed she temporarily lost most of her vision for around three weeks after getting the procedure done.

“If I moved, blinked, or flinched while the syringe was in my eye, I would have gone blind,” she said during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning.

She also described the pain as feeling like rubbing “shards of glass” into her eyes.

Despite the complications, Luke later shocked fans again by revealing she had chosen to undergo additional eyeball tattoo work to correct earlier problems.

“The reason I’m doing this is because I was so botched in the first place I do not ever want to experience that again,” she explained on Triple M WA breakfast radio.

“People say, “Why the hell would you put yourself through that again, knowing that that could be a risk?” But there is actually no risk if it’s done correctly.”

Her body modification journey has since become even more extreme.

Luke recently travelled nearly 10,000 miles from Australia to Barcelona, Spain, to undergo procedures that are banned back home due to health concerns.

One of those modifications involved subdermal implants — where silicone shapes are inserted beneath the skin so tissue heals over the top.

Speaking to followers online ahead of the procedure, she said: “The end result is obviously to have a nice implant, but obviously not let it heal all f***ed up. That is going to be my mission while I’m in Barcelona … just healing.”

She also revealed plans for a “coin slot” procedure on her ear, where part of the cartilage is surgically removed to create a permanent opening designed for stacked jewellery.

“I have had this plan for a while, but I am getting a coin slot in my ear,” she explained. “They take a hole out of your helix, and then they put different earrings in and layer it.”

Despite becoming hugely popular online, Luke admitted her appearance has also made ordinary life difficult — particularly when it comes to employment opportunities.

“They won’t look at my work ethic, they won’t look at my morals or my values, or what I have to bring to the table,” she said.

And judging by her recent posts, the transformation is still nowhere near finished.
