A woman has accidentally divided the internet after casually revealing that she reuses her pyjamas for several nights before throwing them in the wash.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! And judging by the reaction online, people have some very strong feelings about bedtime laundry habits.
TikTok creator Allison Delperdang, known on the platform as @allisondelperdang, triggered the debate after posting a video asking followers a surprisingly simple question: how often are people actually washing their pyjamas?
What began as a light-hearted post quickly snowballed into a full-blown hygiene argument in the comments section, with thousands of people passionately defending their nighttime routines.
In the now-viral clip, Allison explained that wearing pyjamas more than once was completely normal in her household growing up — and it’s something she still does today.
“I need to know if people wear pajamas multiple nights in a row. When I was younger my parents would always make us wear pajamas multiple nights in a row as they weren’t dirty. And I still do that as an adult.”
She then stepped back from the camera to show viewers the button-up onesie she had been sleeping in and admitted she’d already worn it for several nights.
“I’ve worn these, like, three nights in a row. So I need to know if, like, as adults, we’re still doing that, or should I be literally making dirty clothes every single night?”
The clip struck a nerve online.
At the time of writing, the video had amassed more than 1.7 million views and over 86,000 likes, with commenters immediately splitting into two very different camps.
Some viewers were completely horrified by the idea of reusing pyjamas. One person bluntly replied: “No. I don’t reuse towels either. lol.”
Others insisted fresh sleepwear every night was non-negotiable.
“Nope clean pjs every night unless I’m away from home. Then I’ll wear them maybe twice before washing them,” one commenter explained.
A third added: “I change towel and pyjamas every night. That was something mom made me do as a kid. Not everyone does that ?”
But while some people viewed Allison’s habit as unhygienic, plenty of others admitted they do exactly the same thing — or even longer.
“I wear them for like a week straight haha I hate doing laundry,” one user confessed, with another commenting: “I wear mine for like a week! Come on, it’s a freshly showered body in a clean bed.”
One stunned user wrote: “Wait. There’s people that DONT wear their PJs multiple nights in a row????”
Another defended the practice by arguing it’s actually more practical.
“Saving the environment and your clothes! if it’s not dirty/smelly then why wash it? I wear mine for a week in winter,” one person wrote.
Another person admitted fresh pyjamas every night simply isn’t realistic, writing: “Here lol I don’t have enough pjs to be wearing a new pair [each] night and the washing. No thnx.”
Overall, the comments ranged from people insisting that pyjamas should be changed after every use, to others saying they go through 2-3 sets a week… some even saying they washed their jammies MONTHLY.
The debate didn’t stop there either.
Following the attention surrounding her original clip, Allison uploaded another video discussing her general attitude toward laundry — and it only added more fuel to the conversation.
In the follow-up, she admitted she dislikes washing clothes so much that she sometimes avoids it entirely for long stretches.
She revealed she hasn’t done laundry “in a month or two”.
And then came the confession that really sent viewers into meltdown.
“I literally hate laundry so much that I used to go to the store and buy new underwear instead of just washing,” Allison candidly said.
Which… if I had the money… I can’t say I’d be against.
Nevertheless, how often to you wash your PJs? Let us know in the comments!
