A Florida pastor who built part of his public image around marriage advice and commitment to a loving relationship has now been arrested over allegations that he was married to more than one woman at the same time.

Leslie Williams, 62, was taken into custody on April 22 in The Villages, the massive retirement community in Florida, according to online jail records from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the arrest was linked to an outstanding warrant issued out of Rockdale County, Georgia, where Williams is facing a bigamy charge.

Records show he is currently being held without bond because he is considered an out-of-state fugitive.

The allegations have attracted attention online largely because Williams is not just a pastor, but also the author of a marriage-focused book aimed at helping men become better husbands.

The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Digital that investigators obtained Florida marriage records during the investigation.

“Based on these records, a warrant was obtained for Leslie Williams for the charge of bigamy,” the sheriff’s office said.

Officials also stated the records “confirmed that Leslie Williams was still lawfully married at the time of the subsequent marriage.”

Under Georgia law, a bigamy conviction can carry a prison sentence ranging from one to 10 years.

Williams publicly presents himself as the pastor of LW Ministries and also describes himself as a board-certified Christian counsellor on social media.

But the case has generated even more discussion because of the subject matter of his 2017 book, Love Her Like This: Loving Her Has Never Been Deeper.

The book centres heavily on marriage, commitment, and the responsibilities of husbands toward their wives.

According to the book synopsis, it “speaks directly to the hearts of men, sharing the deep intent of the type of love a man should have for his wife.”

The description also states the book addresses “common issues that arise in a marriage that have the potential to destroy the sacred relationship between a husband and wife.”

Another section of the synopsis says the book challenges men “to love deeper than ever before, by making plain the meaning of commitment.”

That messaging has now resurfaced online alongside details of the arrest.

Williams’ Facebook activity has also come under scrutiny following the allegations.

According to reports, Williams had previously indicated on social media that he had been married for years before later appearing to announce a new relationship.

In a Facebook post dated Dec. 9, 2025, Williams seemingly revealed a marriage to a woman named Cindi.

The comments underneath the post quickly reflected confusion from some followers, with one person writing: “Wow I thought you were already married.”

Just days later, in another post dated Dec. 15, 2025, Williams shared a photo of a woman alongside the message: “Thanks for all the wonderful comments referencing my saved, beautiful and talented wife, Mrs. Williams!”

His Facebook relationship status is now reportedly listed as single.

The contrast between the public image Williams cultivated and the allegations now facing him has become a major talking point online, particularly given the subject matter of his ministry work and published writing.

At the centre of the case, however, remains the criminal allegation itself, with Georgia authorities claiming records show Williams was still legally married when another marriage allegedly took place.

No further details about the timeline of the marriages or additional court proceedings have yet been released.
