Metallica concerts are known for drawing massive crowds, thunderous energy, and die-hard fans — but one show in California went instantly viral after an unexpected attendee completely stole the spotlight.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!During the band’s record-breaking two-night run at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood in the summer of 2023 – which drew huge crowds including celebrities like Jason Momoa and John Travolta – fans were stunned to spot a husky calmly sitting in one of the venue’s seats as if she had bought a ticket herself.
The dog, later identified as Storm, quickly became the most talked-about guest of the night.
At first, there were concerns that the animal had been abandoned. The Animal Health & Wellness Organization shared a post after the dog was found at the venue, prompting widespread attention online. But the truth turned out to be far less worrying — and far more entertaining.
Storm hadn’t been left behind at all. She had simply decided to attend the concert on her own.
Metallica themselves addressed the viral moment, writing in a post on Facebook: “You might have heard we had a four-legged fan join us for #M72LA!”
They clarified exactly what happened, adding: “Despite reports to the contrary, our friend Storm snuck out of her home adjacent to @sofistadium and made her way to the gig all by herself.”
Even more impressively, Storm didn’t just wander in — she stayed for the show.
“After a full night taking in the show with her #MetallicaFamily, Storm was safely reunited with her actual family the next day.”
Naturally, the band couldn’t resist having a little fun with their surprise guest, joking that she had impeccable taste in music. The band added: “She had a great time listening to her favorite songs, including ‘Barx Æterna,’ ‘Master of Puppies,’ and ‘The Mailman That Never Comes.’”
Storm’s owner, Arizbeth Hurtado, later confirmed that the adventurous pup had indeed escaped from home, which is located just a short distance from the stadium. The owner revealed: “She is home and safe! We learned something new about her… she is apparently a huge Metallica fan who decided to sneak out for the concert!”
The moment that really left her stunned, though, was seeing exactly how Storm had been enjoying the show. “We were laughing so hard when we saw she was SITTING IN AN ACTUAL SEAT AT THE CONCERT,” the bewildered owner said.
After being discovered at the venue, Storm was taken to a nearby shelter before being reunited with her owner the following day. The Animal Health & Wellness Organization later reassured everyone that the dog was well cared for.

“Based on the owner’s Facebook page, the dog looks cared for and loved. Thank you to everyone who helped to share the post. Happy that the dog found its way home,” it wrote in a post.
While the story has delighted fans across the internet, Metallica also made it clear that Storm’s adventure shouldn’t become a trend.
“And in case you were wondering, no. You definitely shouldn’t bring your furry friends to the #M72 World Tour,” the band wrote in a social media post. But this dog sure did have her day.”
The concert itself was part of Metallica’s tour promoting their album 72 Seasons, and the shows at SoFi Stadium set new attendance records — though it’s safe to say none of those fans made quite the same impression as Storm.
In the end, what could have been a worrying situation turned into a bizarre and wholesome story — one where a curious husky managed to sneak into one of the biggest concerts in the world, enjoy the show from a seat like any other fan, and make it safely back home.
Not bad for a night out.
